He was predeceased by: his parents, John Virgil and Dorothy Settle (Rosier); his siblings, Tim and Irene; his daughters, Christine and Amber; and his grandson Cameron.

He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Settle (Parish); his children, Rocky (Sheila), Dorothy, Jr. (Meg), Adrian (Lydia), Johnny, Sarah, Christopher, Victoria (Seth) and Ike (Tina); his grandchildren, Jimmy, Sarah, Audrey, Anthony, Adam, Patrick, Whitney, Trae, Ben, Gabe, Savanna, Aiden, Erick, Cade, Jonathan, Christina, Jessica and Valarie; and his great grandchildren, Isabell, John Elijah, Tyler, Cooper, Maddock, Wesley, Amelia, Elliott and Anderson.

The family asks that a memorial donation be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers.
