It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dale Lakin of Yukon, Oklahoma, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, who passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Dale shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Dale farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Lakin (Meyer); his sons, Jake, Jonathan (Angela) and Benjamin; his granddaughter Evelyn; his mother Nancy Ford; his sister Roberta Swisher (Mike); and his stepsisters, Karen Arnold (Bob) and Ann Ford. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and a wide circle of friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Buchanan Funeral Service (8712 N Council Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73132). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to one of the following organizations: Sia: The Comanche Nation Ethno-Ornithological Initiative in Cyril, Oklahoma; The Edwards Store, Inc. (located on the Butterfield Trail) in Oklahoma City; or the Oklahoma Historical Society.
