“This is a passing that has caught me completely by surprise. Bill and I have been friends since first grade at McFarland Grade School in 1956. Last talked to Bill shortly before the AUHS Old Timers Reunion this year to confirm the date. He sent me a text shortly after saying he couldn’t attend due to a medical issue. He sent me a Birthday Greeting on Facebook on August 10th. The day prior to his passing. Bill and I to our knowledge were the last surviving classmates of our 1st grade class .”
