He was predeceased by : his mothers, Jesse Martin and Jenny Martin (Mabe); his sister Ardis Prater (Martin); his half-brother Jack; and his sister-in-law Lindy Martin.

He is survived by : his wife Erlene (VanDevender); his children, Scott, Lisa and Patrick; his grandchildren, Isabella, John, Luke Martinez and Michelle; his brother-in-law Neal VanDevender (Cynthia); and also Alex Martinez. He is also survived by several nieces and grand-nieces and nephews.
