It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darla Joy Salo of Astoria, Oregon, born in Riverside, California, who passed away on January 14, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by : her sister Susan Gredvig (Steve) of Lake Tahoe, California; her daughter Sue Smith of Yorba Linda, California; her stepson Bryan Salo of Astoria; her grandchildren, Bryson Smith, Sydney Smith of Yorba Linda, Jordan Salo of Los Angeles, Camryn Salo and Dylan Salo of Boise, Idaho; her siblings-in-law, Deborah Gredvig of Virginia, Carol Beauchamp of Hillsboro, Myron, Bonnie Salo of Portland, Jeffrey and Deborah Salo of Newberg; her nephew Justin Gredvig of Virginia; her nieces, Melissa Brown (Nick) of Boring and Dora Silberman (Ben) of Aloha; her great-nephews, Cody Brown of San Diego, Brantley Brown of Boring, Asher Silberman of Aloha and Brennan Gredvig of Virginia; her great-niece Chloe Silberman of Aloha; and her caregivers, Merle, Karen Royce of Plains, Montana of Astoria, Miki Frace of Astoria, Mel Johnson of Astoria, Dorothy Frace of Astoria, Sharon Witsberger of Astoria, Buddy Hoell of Astoria, Bruce of Astoria and Suzie Conner of Astoria. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.

Darla even donated her kidney to her baby brother, Tommy.
