He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Benjamin and Rose Pitre Benjamin; and his daughter LaQuita Steward. He is survived by: his wife Norma; his sister Marie Breaux of Louisiana; and his children, Alvin Benjamin, Jr., Darryl Benjamin, Althea Benjamin, Susan Benjamin, Eric Robinson and Antonio Benjamin. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
