He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dona Mae and James DeMers, Sr.; his former wife Heidi Heick DeMers; his children, Benjamin Jay Boyd, Jacqueline Amanda DeMers, Victoria Suzanne DeMers and Steven Connor DeMers; his grandchildren, Carter James Waddel, Tucker David Bankofier, Ryder Jace Bankofier, Lincoln James Boyd, Griffin Blake Boyd and Kienan Connor Boyd; his siblings, Jolene DeMers, Nicolette Coleman and Dana DeMers; his siblings' children, Maia DeMers (Tyler Heick), Sein Finn and Seamus Finn; and his cousins, Charmaine Harsch, Catherine Atnip and Rachel Moody.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Hillside Chapel (1306 7th St, Oregon City, OR 97045).
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a memorial fund in James's name at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
