He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben DeVries and Martha DeVries (Postma). He is survived by: his grandchild Chris; his wife Patty DeVries; his children, Karen Samek (Jeremiah), Jennifer Johnson (Drew), Erik DeVries (Jaimee) and Jessica Samek (David); his grandchildren, Kathryn, Kourtney, Brody, Sadie Samek, Brynn, Colt, Jamison, Jade Johnson, Jordan, Khloe, Noah DeVries, Lizzie and Claire Samek; and his siblings, Douwina "Dee" Wicker (Harold) of Chino, California, Arlene Wind (Frank) of Loveland, Colorado, Egbert "Bert" DeVries (Anna) of Turner, Oregon and Anna Sprague (Alan) of Albany. He is also survived by many extended family members, friends, neighbors.
