He was predeceased by: his parents, Egon Boedtker and Rosy Boedtker; his brother Egon (Dora Boedtker); and his sons, Harald and Eric.
He is survived by: his wife Dora Wilhelm; his children, Christina Gerding, Beatrice Boedtker and Markus Boedtker; his son-in-law Robert Gerding; his granddaughter Shannon Starwalt (Ryan); his great grandchildren, Payton and Avery; and his nieces and nephews, Monika, Marianne, Susanne, Egon, Olaf and Martin.
In lieu of flowers, to honor his memory donations may be made in his honor to the OSU Athletic Department, or the Evergreen Hospice House.
