He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Kelly and Jane E. Kelly (Dundon); his siblings, Doris M. Kropp, Robert E. (Bob) and Jack; and his grandchildren, Kerby Kelly and Lance Kelly.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Tom (Pam), Kathy, Susan, Michael, Peter (Rhonda), Chris Feller, Kevin (Cindy), Ann, Clancy (Shizue) and Megan (Joe); and his stepdaughter Cathy. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He believed that donating blood was a response to Jesus' words "No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life (your blood) for one's friends." [John 15:13].
