He was predeceased by: his parents, Ora Bechtel and Sadie Bechtel; his brother Dale; his sister-in-law Virginia Bechtel; his sister Joyce; his brother-in-law Ken Halsey; his sister Verneta; his brother-in-law Bob McClure; and his great grandchild Brehnan Rysdam.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Bechtel of Elgin, Oregon; his daughters, Vickie Hook (Don) of Sheridan, Shellie Rysdam (Jess) of Hermiston and Tammie McEnroe of Haines, Oregon; his grandchildren, Cole Hook (Lacy), Kyle Hook (Cara), Dustin Rysdam (Kaira), Ashley Pearce (Drew), Haley Evans (Brandon) and Taylor McEnroe; and his great grandchildren, Bradley, Paisley Rysdam, Hailey, Raynee, Cobern Pearce, Brody and Kambrie Evans.
