He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Gabriel Joseph Bares and Rosamund M. Bares (Kemp); his stepfather Paul Otto Fehlberg; and his siblings, Michael Bares, Dennie Fehlberg, Kristine Fehlberg and Statia "Jan" Vanderhoof.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Bares of Beaverton, Oregon; his daughter Lynn; his son-in-law Bob Brennan of Somerville, Maine; his foster son Kelly Wells of New Portland, Maine.; his grandchildren, Christopher, Samantha Wells of Waterville, Maine, Katlyn Wells of Auburn, Maine, Mackenzie Wells of Sangerville, Maine and Dawson Wells of Augusta, Maine; and his great grandchildren, Axl Osgood, Raven Jenkins and Waylen Ruest. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sunset Hills Memorial Park (6801 SW Sunset Hwy, Portland, OR 97225).
