He is survived by: his children, Krista DeBolt of Grants Pass and Ryan Hess of Grants Pass; his brothers, James Hess of Eugene and Mark Hess of Roseburg; and his granddaughters, Rashelle Burrell, Kendra Walker and Kailie DeBolt.
