He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Francis Zell and Margaret Sampson. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Jennifer (Olivier) and David; and his grandchildren, Cameron and Riley.

The military honors will be held on Monday, January 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Willamette National Cemetery (8098 SE 112th Ave, Portland, OR 97266).
