It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Bighill of Hammond, Oregon, born in Ilwaco, Washington, who passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bighill and Marie Bighill; his brother Andy Bighill; and his father-in-law Leon Vellinga. He is survived by: his wife Shelly Marie Vellinga of Hammond, OR; his sons, John of Hammond, OR and Nathan of Umatilla, OR; and his grandchildren, Colton and Carter of Umatilla.
Richard's faith and belief in God helped him through many years of battling brain tumors and Parkinson's Disease until it ultimately was too much and he passed peacefully.
