He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sturtevant and Margaret Sturtevant; and his sister Phyllis Reierson. He is survived by: his wife Joy Belle Sturtevant (Peterson) of Pollock; and his children, Jeanine Rice, Daniel Sturtevant, Dawn Nelson and Mark Sturtevant. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren.
