Robert Barnes Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 15, 2025, at the age of 90, Robert Barnes of Hillsboro, Oregon, born in Salem, Oregon passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Robert leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Robert may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl J Barnes and Blanche Barnes (Fry); and his son Douglas. He is survived by: his wife Irene; his sons, Donovan (Michelle Barnes) and David Barnes (Amanda); his daughter-in-law Tamera Barnes of Centervlle; and his brother Dan.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the City View Cemetery (390 Hoyt St SE, Salem, OR 97302). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Watch Video the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - Brookwood (282 NE 32nd Ave, Hillsboro, OR 97124).
He also finished a Masters of Education Degree in 1967 at the University of Oregon and had spent 1962-63 at The Ohio State University under a National Science Foundation Grant.
