He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Yates and Elva Bower. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Yates; his sons, Michael Yates (Patricia) and Steven Yates (Rianna); his grandchildren, Alex, Jasmine, Kaitlyn, Logan, Garett, Evalynn, Odin, Wyatt and Luke; and his great grandchildren, Grayson, Iley and Spencer.

Viewing was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Macy & Son Funeral Home (135 NE Evans St, McMinnville, OR 97128). A graveside service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Pike Cemetery. A celebration of life was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Lafayette Community Church (365 W 3rd St, Lafayette, OR 97127).
