Richard Caldwell wrote a sympathy message

“I am saddened to hear of the passing of my good friend John Sleppy. He and I were in the music department at Humboldt State University in the late 60's. I spent a bit of time working in the family instrument repair shop in the Medford, OR area in the mid 70's. He was fun to be around and a good musician. The picture is from the Humboldt Chamber Music Workshop 1970 Week 1. I cropped it to show John and myself. I am below and 2 to the left from John. Richard Caldwell”
