He was predeceased by: his wife Lela Speelman; his siblings, Rich, Bob, Gene and June; and his daughter-in-law Anna.

He is survived by: his children, Joe Key (Anna) of Colorado, Christy Woodard (Paul) of Umatilla, Dawn Trumbull (Derrick) of Richland and Denise Lemmer (David) of St. Paul; his niece Tina Key (Richard) of McNary; his siblings, Jim Key (Joan) of Hermiston, Irene Ward (Bob) of Hermiston, JoAnn Olsen (Gary) of Boardman and Noanie Graham (Jack) of Pendleton; his grandchildren, Ashley, Nikki, Ronald, Trista, Lindsey, Ryan, KDee, Jessica, Tim and Robert; and his great grandchildren, Abi, Lela, Karsynn, Blake, Emma, Nathan, Thadeus, Aria, Koltyn and Faith.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home (902 S Main St, Milton-Freewater, OR 97862).

Memorial contributions can be made through the funeral home to St Jude or Good Shepherd Vange John Memorial Hospice as nobody should be alone when they enter this world or leave it.
