It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marcia Lee Akes of Milton Freewater, Oregon, who passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Lee West and Irene Ruth West (Lynch); her husband Chuck; and her sister Sharon West. She is survived by: her children, Sharee LaRue-Wright (Shane) of Milton-Freewater, Jacqueline "Jaci" Jorgensen of Richland, Washington, Candace Gaudin (Aaron) of Richmond, Utah, Carisa "Cris" Cooper (Ron) of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Charles "Len" Akes, III (Wendy) of Prescott, Washington, Kenneth LaRue (Heather) of Rexburg, Idaho, Clay Akes and Colton Akes of Milton-Freewater; her brother Clifford E. West (Joan) of Kuna, Idaho; and her grandchildren, Bowdie, Patton Wright, Haley Akes, Crystal, Lukas Jorgensen, Cora Lynn, Alexa, Kenzie, Conner LaRue, Aleah, Cameron, Charlie, Adelynn Gaudin, Cassidy, Jamesen, Garrett, Spencer, Keele, Anni, Ron Jr. Cooper (RJ), Jade Akes, Colton Jr. (CJ), Cash and Dakota Akes. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (1151 N Elizabeth St, Milton-Freewater, OR 97862). When the college went to online classes only in 2020, due to COVID, she went to on-call status at the college and became a legal assistant at Andy Millar Law Office until he retired in 2022.
