Carol A. Marcello Obituary

We are sad to announce that on October 23, 2025, Carol A. Marcello of Portland, Oregon passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid Carol farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Carol is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

She was predeceased by: her husband Edward J. Marcello; and her sons, William Marcello and Matthew Marcello. She is survived by: her children, Michael (Laurie), Jennifer (Andy Cook), Gina (Keith Johnson) and Anthony Marcello of Boston, Massachusetts.; and her brother Carl Hagerstrom of Florida. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (307 Congress St, Portland, ME 04101).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s memory to the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, P.O. Box 803, Elmhurst, IL 60126.
