He was predeceased by: his parents, Dyle Hatmaker and Catherine Phillips. He is survived by: his children, Remi, Josh and Jeff; his husband Jeff Turner; and his brothers, Dyle and Vaughn. He is also survived by his two nieces and grandnephews/niece.

As part of a large circle of friends who gathered at 306 Ward in Seattle, we shared so many activities, parties and local trips, with all the laughs and minor troubles inherent to young people finding their way in their early twenties. After his move to Califirnia, I lost touch with Dennis until our reconnection on Facebook. It's comfort to know he was surrounded by love, a love he gave to all during his 70 years. Safe travels, old chum, til we meet again.”
