With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William George Evans (Portland, Oregon), born in Grinnell, Iowa, who passed away on July 17, 2022 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Paul Evans and Ruth Marguerite Evans (Brown); his brother Richard "Dick" Evans; and his grandson Kyle Meyers. He is survived by: his wife Dixie Ann Gebhard of Hillsboro; his children, William "Russell" (Annette Evans), Sharen Evans of Hillsboro and Ruth Meyers of Beaverton; his siblings, Nadina (Doug Niles), Evan "Butch" (Julie Evans) and David "Bud" (Elena Evans); and his grandchildren, Matthew (Taya Evans), Amy (Warren Moreno), Alicia (Brian Cessna), Mary (Casey Watkins), Elizabeth Plumlee-Evans and Aaron (Tisha Meyers). He is also survived by his fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the charity of their choice in his memory.
