He was predeceased by: his parents, Newell Parley and Rosella Baker; and his siblings, Lowell (Bryce) and Elna. He is survived by: his friend Dono Peterson; his children, Julia Brown (David), Diane Overbay, Annette Rollins (Kip) and Shannon Dickson (Cody); his wife Pat Thompson; his friend Frank Rencher; his nephew Derek (Sandy); and his siblings, Sharon Davis, Rosella Grant (Todd) and Parley Baker (Sandra).

Five years ago, David was stricken with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's disease limiting his daily life.
