He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril McKenney and Bertha McKenney; and his parents-in-law, Lee Palmer and Edith Beal. He is survived by: his wife Becky; his sons, Cy McKenney (Andrea), Jeremy McKenney and Reed Asplund (Amanda); and his siblings, Russ McKenney and Andra McKenney-Lang. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

I worked with Steve at Roseburg Forest Products for several years and was excited to work with him again when I returned to the company a year and a half ago. He was always so helpful, funny, and he genuinely cared about everyone. He never hesitated to jump in and assist me at any of the plants I was working at, and he did so with a smile! He was a wonderful man. My condolences to you and your sons. Valerie Wilson”
