He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Demarest and Dorothea Demarest; and his son Chris Demarest. He is survived by: his siblings, Gordon, Rena and Gerald; his wife Kerri; his children, Rob, Robin, Tanya, Jeff and Dale; his grandchildren, Heather, Nichole, Rebecca, Gabriel, Alexandria, Kane, Tiffani and Colton; and his great grandchildren, Emelie, Ashlie, Abbie, Katie, Nora, Jack, Sophia, Sienna and Ever. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
