He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Schilling and Alicia Schilling (Blake); and his wife Janet Holden. He is survived by: his children, Leonard Schilling (Michelle) and Julie Eschilling (Sheri); his grandchildren, Katie Schilling, Ayla Eschilling and Lila Eschilling; and his sisters, DeEtta Koning (Bob) and Rita Erlenbach (Dick).
