He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Thomas and Anna Thomas (Johnston); his wife Geneva Walker; his children, Vicki and Jay; and his granddaughter Paige.
He is survived by: his children, Bonnie Brockamp (Jim) and Chuck (Michele); and his siblings, George, Terry and Joan Hett. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
