Born on June 27, 1934, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Leonard and Lucy Roudebush, Judy was raised in Custer, South Dakota, where she graduated from high school. She went on to attend Colorado Women's College and later completed her studies at Oregon Health Science Center, where she began a dedicated 40+ year career as a dental hygienist.
While studying in Portland, Judy met the love of her life, Jim Kleen, on a blind date. Just eight months later—and two days after her graduation—they were married, beginning a beautiful life together until Jim's passing. Judy is now reunited with her beloved husband in peace.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Marci Ward (Mike Ryan) and Shari Conaway (Danny Conaway), as well as her cherished grandchildren: Steven Ward (Chandy Ward), Kellie Stavang (Brandon Stavang), Austin Perez, Jessi Dobson (Keith Dobson), and Sara Perez. Judy's joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Ainsley Ward, Hayzel Ward, Kaylee Stavang, and Makenna Stavang.
A longtime resident of Salem, Judy was a devoted member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild for over 40 years and was an integral part of the St. Anne's Guild, and served as the wedding coordinator for many years. Her faith, generosity, and steadfast commitment to her church community were among her many admirable qualities.
Judy's warmth, intelligence, and sense of fun touched all who knew her. One of her greatest passions was playing Bridge, and she found deep joy and connection in her many years of games and laughter shared with her Bridge buddies.
Her family would like to thank the Boone Ridge Senior Living Community for their friendship and support, and also Brighton Hospice for their amazing passion and care.
Judy's legacy of love, grace, and unwavering devotion to her family and community will be remembered always.
