He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Bender and Laura Bender; and his brothers, Stanley, Alfred and Louis Bender.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia DuPree of Cecilia's Catholic Church; his children, Kay Mick (Jason), Don Bender (Karol), Laurie Nease (Lee) and Angela Jazowick (Peter); and his brother John Bender (Anita). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
