He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Runels and Violet Runels (Sheehy); his siblings, Michael Runels and Susan Araiza-Boys; and his grandson Talon Gauthier.
He is survived by: his daughters, Wendy Gauthier (Jeff) of Christmas Valley, OR and Heidi Breitenstein (Joe) of Leadore, ID.; his grandchildren, Justin Edwards (Haylie) of Tok, AK, Dillon Edwards of Pueblo, CO. and Ivy Wight (Matt) of Chiloquin, OR; his sister Jane Stevens (Dave) of Orangevale, CA; and his daughter Shannon Araiza.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Fort Rock Community Church (64671 Fort Rock Rd, Fort Rock, OR 97735).
