“Doug was my cousin and, growing up, my first best friend. Doug was four months younger than I was, so we shared the same timeline in the 50s and 60s as we grew up. Doug was the intellectual of our small group of cousins, including my brother, David, and me. We had a great time growing up. He had a big tree in his backyard that we used to climb a lot. Our grandparents lived next door, and we had many family meals together. Our Christmases were large and happy. I will miss him. Steve Millhollen”
