He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey "Hal" Harold Schmidt and Melita Crissman Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Jessica Pauline Schmidt; his brother David Wayne Schmidt; his niece Sarah; and his nephew Sean. He is also survived by many friends, former students, scouting companions.
