Michael O'Hara wrote a sympathy message

“Please accept the sincerest condolences from the Mike O'Hara Family upon the passing of John Evans. He was our Coach and Teacher at St Mary's High School in Berkeley in the '68- '72 timeframe. He is a fellow alum being from the SM Class of '64. I understand he was a legendary HS Baseball Coach in Oregon. We still tell stories about Legendary Big John Evans. I had just sent him an invitation to join my SM Class of '72 classmates for our 50th Reunion Dinner in June 2022. RIP Coach Evans.”
