He was predeceased by: his wife Marrietta "Mickie" Widener; his parents, Roy Bowman and Nettie Bowman; his siblings, Gene Bowman and Edna Bowman; and his son William Jay "Bill" Bowman.
He is survived by: his sons, Larry, Jeff, Bruce and Carl. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
