It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Hanson in Woodburn, Oregon, who passed away on October 28, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rita Theresa Gehlen and John Peter "Pete" Mertz; and her brother Robert "Bob" Allen Mertz. She is survived by: her sons, Michael James Hanson and Scott Lee Hanson; her nieces, Kathy and Carol Hendricks; and her grandchildren, Ashley Huffman, Kassandra Hanson, Andrew Hanson, David Hanson, Michael Edwin Hanson, Jordanne Hanson and Allie Hanson. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
