He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles G. Hynes and Helen K. Hynes (Hart); his former wife Anne Hynes (Gould); and his daughter-in-law April Leopold. He is survived by: his wife Judith Hynes (Lile); his children, John Jr., Gregory David (Jennifer Brown) and Allison Anne Hynes; his sister Helen Lafferty; and his half-sisters, Dorothy Kovacs and Betty Bray. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren.
