He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Protho and Bertha Protho; and his siblings, Leroy, Henry, Della Mae, Naphonia and Ernest.

He is survived by: his wife Gina; his sisters-in-law, Janet and Ruth; and his friend Elizabeth. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
