He was predeceased by: his wife Lillian Betlyn; and his daughter Ruth Betlyn. He is survived by: his children, Leon Betlyn Jr., Janet Rump (Richard), Susan Welder, Sandra Hunter (Ken) and Mary Hashman (Scott). He is also survived by 17 grandkids, 28 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Fh Inc. (2026 McMinn St, Aliquippa, PA 15001). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location.
