She was predeceased by : her parents, Sherman McPherson and Agnes McPherson. She is survived by : her husband Thomas R. Mason; her children, Scott (Sheryl Mason) and Kimberly (Michael Gray); her brother Henry; her grandchildren, Dr. Thomas Mason (Sarah Long), Sarah Floyd (Garrett), Emma Gray (Derek Joy), Simon Gray, Aidan Gray, Mary Mason, Mason Gray, Maeve Gray and Elizabeth Mason; her great grandchild Asa Louis Floyd; and her sister-in-law Patty. She is also survived by several loving nieces and a nephew.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church.

“My condolences to Tom and your family. Ruth was such a wonderful, caring, and inspirational person not only to me but to all she came in contact with on a daily basis. She inspired me not only to become a better teacher but a better person. Her influenza and guidance stays with me still today and I do my best to pass her wisdom on.
