He was predeceased by: his parents, S. Denton Reckart and Minnie Reckart (Kelly); his wife Eleanor Ruth Reckart (Cramer); his son John S. "Jay" Reckart; his sister Janet Ann; and his brothers-in-law, Charley Cramer, Denver Cramer, Charles Livengood, Charles Feather and Loye Peaslee.
He is survived by: his children, Monta Lawson (Brad) of Bruceton Mills and Joseph Reckart (Diane) of Bruceton Mills; his grandsons, Chad Lawson (Abby), Jared Lawson (Emily), Brody Lawson (Shelby Dillsworth), Joe Reckart (Heather) and Derek Reckart; his great grandchildren, Gaaron, Adley, Julia, Josephine Lawson, Jordyn, Jase, Blake and Natalie Reckart; his sisters-in-law, Liz Peaslee and Polly Livengood; and his pets, Fox and Kitty Cat. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
