He was predeceased by: his father David L. Abate. He is survived by: his mother Linda J. Steffan Harrison of Leechburg; his children, Petty Officer 2nd Class Osric Abate, US Navy, Calliope, Cecilia Trinity and Catrina Abate; the mother of his children Cletus Marie Abate (Cibrone) of Pittsburgh; his siblings, Anthony Abate of Washington, DC. and Leanne Swickline (David) of New Berne, NC.; and his stepmother Debra Abate of Lower Burrell.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations made in his name to the National Rifle Association.
