He is survived by: his wife Dorothea Stepan (Estok); his children, Katherine R. "Kate" Stepan of Buena Vista, CO and Michael A. Stepan (Vanessa) of Colorado Springs, CO; his grandchildren, Bradley, Arlyn and Adler; his siblings, Adolph Stepan (Norma) of Ashburn, VA and Loretta Engelbart of Leigh, NE; his nephews, Grant and Roger; and his niece Elizabeth.
