He was predeceased by: his wife Arlene Scherer; his parents, Henry M. Scherer and Katie A. Scherer (Geist); and his siblings, Albert, William Scherer and Margaret Dulik.
He is survived by: his children, Edward Jr. (Rosemarie) and SallyAnn (Brian Heil); his grandchildren, Janelle Augustadt (Ramsey), Blake Scherer, Timothy Hoefling (Kacy) and Crystal DeRose (Ryan); and his great grandchildren, Luxen, Skylar, Dominic, Dakota, Audrey, Pierson and Camille.
