With sadness, we share the passing of Jean Bates of Allentown, Pennsylvania. Jean passed away on September 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph G. Bates, Sr.; her parents, Harold Kramer and Mildred Kramer (Maurer); her son Joseph G. Bates, Jr.; and her sister Jane Tritt (Jack).

She is survived by: her children, Ann E. Shields (Dan), Amy K. Campagna (Peter) and John J. Bates; her grandchildren, Dale Smith (Joanna), Justin Smith (Lizzy), Lily Shields and Merry Shields; her great grandchildren, Maverick, Axel, Tate and Isla Smith; and her sister Kay Shotsberger (Richard Johnson). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the The Mansion (3000 Main St, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
