He was predeceased by: his parents, Amandus Adams and Margaret Adams (Smith); his stepfather Paul Haupt; and his siblings, Marie, Kenneth and Gary.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia J. Adams; his children, Charles (Joi), Jeffrey (Linda) and Kelly (Paula); his grandsons, Samuel, Gregory, Benjamin and Jack; his great grandchildren, Owen, Gracie and Charlotte; and his siblings, Irene Smith, Lee Adams and Rodney Haupt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
