He is survived by: his wife Valerie Rivera; his children, Luis Rivera, Jr. and Jazzie Rivera; his siblings, Jose Rivera, Edwin Santiago, Jarvey Santiago, Rosa Rivera, Alex Rivera and Angie Rivera; and his grandchildren, Giovanni Melendez, Serenity Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez, Alexi Rodriguez and Bentley Rodriguez.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
