He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter E. Knouse and Rita Knouse (Christel). He is survived by: his wife Judy Knouse (Hofmann); his children, Kristin A. Knouse, MD, Bryan C. Knouse (Rachel) and Melissa C. Knouse; and his sisters, Lynn Brinker (Mark) and Kim Beidler (Andy).
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (3231 Tilghman St, Allentown, PA 18104). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. He served as Chief of the Division from 2013 to 2022, guiding his colleagues and community through the COVID-19 pandemic with calm and compassion.
