He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Ernst and Charles E. Ernst; and his brother James Ernst. He is survived by: his spouse Gail Ernst; his sister Nancy Knight; his sister-in-law Peggy Ernst (Carol Lieurance); and his close friend Scott Snyder.
